Ankita Lokhande is a film and TV actress who is best known for her role as Archana in the television soap Pavitra Rishta. The 5’5” tall beauty is one of the highest paid actress in Indian television and is regarded as the TV industry’s one of the most gorgeous faces.
Career
Ankita left her studies mid-way and came to Mumbai in 2005 as she wanted to become an actress. She auditioned for and got the lead role in a serial called ‘Bali Umar Ko Salaam.’ However, the show got shelved and was never telecast.
Lokhande’s big break came in the year 2009 when she was cast as the female lead in the serial ‘Pavitra Rishta’ which aired on Zee TV. Soon, she became one of the most recognized faces on TV and became a television superstar. She also played the role of ‘Pragya’ in the serial ‘Ek Thhi Naayka’; was a participant in shows like ‘Comedy Circus Ka Naya Daur,’ season 4 of ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa,’ and Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega; and in a cameo role in soap opera ‘Kuch Toh Hai Tere Mere Darmiyaan.’ Lokhande has stated that she was supposed to make her Bollywood debut as the female lead in Shahrukh Khan-starrer ‘Happy New Year.’ That role was eventually played by Deepika Padukone.

- Ankita was born as Tanuja Lokhande on 19th December 1984 into an Indore-based Maharashtrian family.
- Ankita and male lead of ‘Pavitra Rishta’ Sushant Singh Rajput got close during the shooting of the serial and began dating each other. Rajput proposed to her when they were shooting together on the sets of ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ season 4. She was very surprised by the proposal. Lokhande has stated that they will get married towards the end of 2016.
