Born in Bareilly, Disha Patani realized her dream of becoming an actress in 2015 with the Telugu movie Loafer. A year later, she made her Bollywood debut with sports biopic M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story. 2018 got her widespread fame and popularity after the release of the superhit action drama Baaghi 2.
A sequel to Baaghi, Baaghi 2 starred Tiger Shroff in the lead role and Disha Patani as his love interest. The movie hit the theaters on March 30, 2018. It had mostly positive reviews and ended up earning over INR 250 crores at the box office. Most of the accolades for the success of the movie went to Tiger, but Disha’s performance was also appreciated. The same year, she also had a cameo appearance in Chakri Toleti’s Welcome To New York.
Disha will next be seen alongside superstar Salman Khan in the drama Bharat. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film also features Katrina Kaif, Jackie Shroff, Tabu, and Sunil Grover. Disha will be portraying the role of a trapeze artist and has undergone extreme physical training for the part. Shooting for the film began in June 2018 and it is set to hit the theaters on Eid June 5, 2019. It is rumored that the budget of the film is a massive INR 200+ crores. The teaser of the film will be released on Jan 26, 2019.
2019 will also see the release of two other films starring Patani. As per reports, she will star opposite another superstar, i.e., Hrithik Roshan, after doing Bharat with Salman. The untitled film will be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Rohit Dhawan. Disha will then be seen opposite Siddharth Malhotra in the next directorial venture of Mohit Suri. Produced by Ekta Kapoor, the romantic drama will release in the latter half of 2019.
