Hina Khan is an Indian model and TV actress best known as Akshara in the TV drama ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ which airs on Star Plus.
Career
Hina began her acting career as a guest in varied TV serials. The 5’4″ tall beauty made her first guest appearance in 2009 in the soap ‘Kayamath.’ Later in 2010, she featured in ‘Chand Chupa Badal Mein’ and ‘Sapna Babul Ka…Bidaai’ as a guest. In 2011, she made a guest appearance in a cooking show called ‘Chef Pankaj Ka Zayka.’
‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ was the first lead role offered to Khan. In this serial, she portrays the role of ‘Akshara Naitik Singhaniya’ opposite the male lead Karan Mehra. It is one of the most popular serials on air and brought a lot of recognition and fame for Khan. Karan and Hina are considered to be one of the best looking couples on TV. They are however not involved in any way off-screen. Hina has a melodious voice and has even sung a bhajan to Lord Krishna in the serial. She has won several acting awards for her performance in the serial.
It was speculated that she was working in a movie called ‘Mere Saajan.’ But that is not true.

- Khan was born on 2nd October 1987 into a Pashtun Muslim family in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, India. The family later relocated to Delhi. After completing her school, Hina enrolled at Gurgaon’s CCA School of Management and later did her Masters in Business Administration from Gargi College located in Delhi. The family currently lives in Mumbai. Hina has a younger brother named Amir Khan.
- It was rumored that Khan was dating Jaywant (Rocky) Jaiswal, the supervising producer of the serial ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.’ For a long time neither offered any information about the relationship between them. Recently, Hina tweeted that Rocky was her ‘bestie.’
- Khan is a fan of Kajol, Amitabh Bachchan, and Smriti Irani.
- Eastern Eye named Hina in their list of ‘Top 50 Sexiest Asian Women’ in 2013 as well as in 2014.
- Hina is also one of the highest paid TV actresses in India, earning around Rs.1 lakh per episode.
