Divya Khosla Kumar is a popular Bollywood director, actress, choreographer and producer. She is the wife of T-series chairman and managing director, Bhushan Kumar.
Divya started off as model and then went to act in an obscure, multi-starrer film in 2004 known as ‘Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo’. She tok independent courses to learn editing and cinematography. She ended up directing more than 22 videos and ad films. She says that she had a hard time convincing her husband to give her the opportunity to direct feature films. She said that he would dissuade her because he didn’t want her to handle additional tensions of being a movie director. She says, “Bhushan said that he would gift me something worth 10 crores instead. But I was clear that I wanted to make movies. He kept on rejecting stories till he liked ‘Yaariyan’. I like to work with new actors because they come with relatively less baggage. And Yaariyan was a movie with totally new, young actors in their early 20s.” She laughs, “Once Yaariyan clicked, Bhushan would chase me to make more movies for him. He wanted me to make Yaariyan too, but I wanted to so Sanam Re.”
Sanam Re became a hit and it was noticed for its music and romance. The 1. 70 meter tall actress-director also performed an item number for the film called, ‘Humne Pee Rakhi Hai’.

The actress married boyfriend Bhushan Kumar, the head of T-series in the year 2005. They had a son called Ruhaan in 2011. She did a commendable job of playing the perfect mother to a two-year old while directing her very first film.
