The dancing and action sensation Tiger Shroff already had a few hits under his belt before 2018. However, the year saw him rise at the box office and launched him into stardom.
Tiger had just one release in 2018, i.e., Baaghi 2, a sequel to his hit film Baaghi. The latter featured Shraddha Kapoor as the female co-star, while the sequel had Disha Pattani as his love interest. Made on a budget of around INR 60 crores, Baaghi 2 hit the theaters on 30th March 2018. It raised hell at the box office and collected an estimated INR 253.18 crores worldwide, thereby making it one of the top grosser of the year. The film was critically praised for its amazing action sequences and was lapped up by the audience.
In 2019, Tiger will be seen in another sequel, i.e., Student of the Year 2, which is a follow-up on the hit film SOTY. This romantic comedy dance drama movie will mark the Hindi movie debut of two actresses, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria. The movie is produced by Dharma Productions and directed by Punit Malhotra. It is set to have a theatrical release on May 10, 2019.
Tiger will also star in an untitled Yash Raj Films movie alongside Vaani Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan. Siddhartha Anand will direct the film and it may release in theaters in October 2019.
The producers of Baaghi 2 had already stated that they will make another sequel during the promo launch of the movie. The first poster of ‘Baaghi 3’ was released in the latter half of 2018; it featured the release date of the film as March 6, 2020. A few other posters of the film were also released; one featured the daring eyes of Tiger fully prepped for some action along with the caption “All of this was just a Warm up! Kyuki abhi toh usne Start Kiya Hai…”, while another one compared the journey of Baaghi from 2016 to 2018 along with the caption “A rebel was born in 2016, he conquered in 2018”. It is rumored that the female co-star of Tiger in Baaghi 3 will change once again and that she may be the gorgeous and bubbly Sara Ali Khan.
