Sajid Kamran Khan is a movie director, presenter, scriptwriter, actor, and talk show host. He is best known for directing the superhit movies Housefull and Housefull 2.
In Oct 2018, as part of the #MeTooIndia movement, Sajid Khan was accused of se*ual misconduct and se*ual harassment by many actresses like Rachel White, Saloni Chopra, and Simran Suri as well as journalist Karishma Upadhyay. Actors BipashuBasu and Akshay Kumar criticized Khan for his conduct and the latter walked out of the movie ‘Houseful 4’ which Khan was directing. Subsequently, Khan was replaced as director by FarhadSamji. Sajid has denied all allegations and has stated that he will fight it out in courts.

Early Life and Education
Sajid was born on 23rd Nov 1971 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He is the son of former filmmaker, stunt artist, and actor Kamran Khan and Menaka Irani/Khan. Farah Khan, the movie director and choreographer is his sister.Former actresses Daisy Irani and Honey Irani are the sisters of his mother Maneka. Movie director Zoya Akhtar and actor/director Farhan Akhtar are his maternal cousins.
Khan did his schooling from Maneckji Cooper School in Mumbai and later finished his graduation from Mumbai’s Mithibai College.
His father lost all his wealth after making the flop film AisaBhiHota Hai in 1971. This made them very poor and they began living a life of poverty in a chawl. His parents got divorced in 1977. His alcoholic father suffered liver damage and died in 1985.

Sajid began his career in the entertainment industry in 1995 as the host of ‘Main Bhi Detective’ a TV show. After that he hosted ‘Ikke Pe Ikka’, a music countdown show; acted in a triple role in Kehne Mein Kya Harz Hai; did a standup comedy show ‘Sajid No. 1’; hosted Super Sale andSajid’s Superstars; and was a judge on India’s Got Talent season 2,Nach Baliye Season 5, and Nach Baliye Season 6.
Sajid made his debut as a director in 2006 with the film DarnaZaroori Hai; it was film made of 6 small stories and the part ‘The Graveyard’ was director by him. He became a full-fledged director in 2007 with the film HeyyBabyy. He then directed the hit films 2010’s Housefull and 2012’s Housefull 2. His next two films as director HimmatwalaandHumshakals were panned by critics and audiences alike.
Sajid made his debut as a movie actor in 1998 in the film Jhooth Bole KauwaKaate. He also had minor roles in films such as MujhseShaadiKarogi, Main Hoon Na, and Happy New Year.
Personal Life and Trivia
- Sajid was in a relationship with actress Jacqueline Fernandez in the early 2010s.
- In 1985, Sajid and his sister Farah were backup dancers in a song ‘Bacha Le Sambha Le Koi ToYahan Se Nikale’ from the film ‘3D Saamri’. They had mud on their face in the song and hence cannot be identified.
- Khan was a gang member as a teen. The gang used to steal bicycles, hubcaps, and car stereo systems.

- He began working as a DJ at social events and parties when he was 16 years old. Sajid also did action scenes and mimicry at Juhu beach to entertain and make money.
- Sajid has stated that he was very close friends with actor Ajay Devgn when they were in college. As Khan did not have any money, Ajay used to pay for his cigarettes and food.
- In 2009, Sajid and director Ashutosh Gowariker has a verbal spat at an awards show after Khan made a joke about the latter’s movie and Gowariker got angry.
Sajid Khan – Controversies with Rachel White, Saloni Chopra, Simran and Karishma Upadhyay
Journalist Karishma Upadhyay alleged Sajid Khan of lewd and inappropriate behavior in a Twitter post. This was followed by actress Saloni Chopra who wrote a long post on Medium accusing him of harassment and inappropriate behavior during her time of working with him. Trouble mounted for Khan when other actresses like Rachel White and Simran Suri accused him of inappropriate behavior while conduction audition at his Juhu home. As Sajid Khan became subject to backlash and criticism on Twitter, sister Farah Khan said that she feared trial on Twitter, for her brother. Cousin Farhan Akhtar said on the microblogging site that Sajid had a lot to atone for, if he had indulged in such a behavior. Farhan’s views did not go well down with Twitterati who felt that he was taking a soft stand on his bother.
