Since his debut, Kartik Aryan was regarded as a dependable actor as he consecutively delivered hit films. However, 2018 proved to be a breakthrough year for him.
In 2018, Kartik Aryan played one of the main leads in the Luv Ranjan directed comedy movie Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety. The film released in theaters on Feb 23, 2018 and was criticized for being misogynistic. It however turned out to be a huge success at the box office. Made on a budget of INR 30 crores, the film collected a massive INR 148+ crores worldwide. This established Kartik as a star. Other cast members of the movie included Sunny Singh, Nushrat Bharucha, and Ishita Raj Sharma. T-Series was the producer.
As of Jan 2019, Aaryan has two upcoming film projects, the romantic comedy Luka Chuppi and Bollywood remake of Kannada movie Kirik Party. Kartik has only committed to play the lead in the latter and there is no more information beyond that.
Shooting for Luka Chuppi, which is set in Mathura and Gwalior, started in August 2018 and was completed within a month. Kartik plays the role of a TV reporter from Mathura. Kriti Sanon plays the female lead, as a headstrong woman. Laxman Utekar will make his debut as a Bollywood director with this film. Luka Chuppi will release in theaters on March 1, 2019.
Karthik Aryan has also been signed for a comedy movie directed by Anees Bazmee, produced by Bhushan Kumar. The film which will have Aryan playing a Mumbai-based college student, goes on floors in mid-2019, and the movie should release by early 2020.
As of Jan 2109, Aaryan is allegedly in a relationship with Ananya Pandey. She is the gorgeous daughter of actor Chunkey Pandey and former model Bhavna Pandey.
