Katrina Kaif, the Diva of Bollywood, had a fairly dismal 2018. She had a minor role as dancer Suraiyya in the Yash Raj Films mega project Thugs of Hindostan. The film also starred stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan in the main leads. However, the film bombed at the box office and was also panned by critics.
Katrina’s next movie of 2018 was the Shahrukh Khan starrer Zero. Directed by Anand L Rai, the film also featured Anushka Sharma as the second female lead. The film failed to live up to its expectations when it released in theaters and did not perform well at the box office. It also had mostly negative reviews, but nearly all the critics praised the performance of Kaif. A few critics even stated that the only good thing about Zero was Katrina’s acting.
Upcoming Movie – 2019
Kaif’s next venture will be as the female lead in the Salman Khan starrer ‘Bharat’. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film is set to release in theaters on June 5, 2019 during Eid. Priyanka Chopra was initially cast to play the role (now essayed by Katrina), but she left the film after getting engaged to Nick Jonas. Other cast members include Disha Patani, Tabu, Jackie Shroff, and Sunil Grover. The film’s teaser will be released on Jan 26, 2019.

- Aditya Dhar directed untitled movie: This movie will reunite the popular pair of Akshay Kumar and Katrina. It is rumored that Salman Khan and Karan Johar will produce the film. The release date has not been finalized as yet.
- Raajneeti 2: This sequel to the 2010 hit movie Raajneeti is also rumored to star Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina in the lead roles. The sequel will also be directed by Prakash Jha. The release date has not been finalized.
