Akshay Kumar is a famous Indian actor, martial artist and a producer who is best known for his stunts in the movies and his perfect comedy timings. Akshay started off his acting career in the 1990s with the movies that mainly depicted action. He was best known at that time for the Khiladi series that he acted in. Early life and education
Akshay Kumar was born as Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia on September 09, 1967 to Hari Om Bhatia and Aruna Bhatia. His father was a military officer while his mother was a home maker. He was born and brought up in Chandni Chowk in Delhi and was recognised as a performer right from his childhood. He was a great dancer as well. He has a sister named Alka Bhatia.
Akshay completed his schooling from the Don Bosco School and later enrolled himself in the Guru Nanak Khalsa College which is located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He dropped out after a year from the college and went to Bangkok to learn about the different martial art forms. He achieved his black belt in Taekwondo before going to Bangkok to gain further knowledge.
Later in Bangkok, he took lessons of Muay Thai and soon received the black belt for that as well. Amidst his stay in Bangkok, he worked as a chef and also a waiter in restaurants there. He later returned to Mumbai and continued giving classes of martial arts. It was a student of his that recommended him to do modelling and later ended up signing a modelling contract.
