First up is Kesari, which tells the story of Havildar Ishar Singh, who participated in the Battle of Saragarhi. This is an inspiration tale of 21 sikhs who fought an army of 10,000 Afghans in 1897. The movie produced by Karan Johar, is directed by Anurag Singh, and co-stars Parineeti Chopra. The movie releases March 21, 2019.
On July 19, 2019 is ‘Good News’. Akshay Kumar teams up with Kareena Kapoor, in the movie that also co-stars Kiara Advani and Diljith Dosanjh. It is a comedy about two couples trying to get pregnant. Good News is also produced by Karan Johar, and is directed by debutant Raj Mehta.
Mission Mangal is the story based on India’s ambitious Mars Orbiter Mission or Mangalyaan in 2013. Mission Mangal is co-produced by Akshay Kumar and R. Balki and is directed by Jagan Shakti. The movie co-stars Vidya Balan, Tapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Sharman Joshi and Nithya Menen.
Releasing on October 25, 2019 is the much-in-news for wrong reasons ‘Housefull 4’. The film is slated for a Diwali release and is touted to be India’s costliest comedy film. To be honest, the movie definitely proved costly to its original director Sajid Khan and actor Nana Patekar, who quit the film, in the wake of #Metoo controversy and charges leveled by actresses like Tanushree Dutta, Rachel White, Saloni Chopra and others. Rana Dagubatti replaced Nana Patekar and Farhad Samji, who directed Housefull 3 wil direct Housefull 4 also. The rest or the cast includes Kriti Kharbanda, Kriti Sanon, Ritiesh Deshmukh, Bobby Deol, among others.
Akshay Kumar has teamed up with Rohit Shetty to play the dare-devil ATS officer ‘Suryavanshi’. The movie is slated to release by December 2019.
Akshay Kumar is also doing the movie on Prithviraj Chauhan, the legendary warrior king of the 12th century. It is going to be a big budgeted movie, there are many legends surrounding the king including the one in which after he was held captive by the enemy, he destroyed his own eyes, so that he didn’t give out secrets to them.
