Kangana Ranaut is a famous Indian film actress who is known for her work in the Indian Hindi film industry or ‘Bollywood’. Early Life and Education
Ranuat was born to Asha and Amardeep Ranaut in a Rajput family in the small town of Bhambla, Mandi District, Himachal Pradesh on 23 March 1986. While her father is a businessman, her mother is a school teacher. She has two siblings, an elder sister, Rangoli Chandel, who serves as Ranaut’s manager and was a victim of acid attacks, and a younger brother named Akshat. Ranaut claims to be a rebel as a child and moved to Mumbai to pursue acting despite her parents’ will, who later cut off ties with her. She has now reconnected with her family.
Ranaut attended the DAV School in Chandigarh and earlier aspired to be a doctor. Despite preparing for the entrance exam of All India Pre Medical Test, did not appear for it. She then moved to Delhi to pursue a career in modelling. She trained to be an actor under theatre director Arvind Gaur, participated in plays and moved to Mumbai.

Career Rise
Ranaut made her film debut in 2006 with Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Gangster’, directed by Anurag Basu in which she essayed the role of a young alcoholic woman named Simran. The film became a critical and commercial success and won her a Filmfare best debut in 2007. Ranaut’s next appearance in 2006 was in’Woh Lamhe’ in which she essayed a semi-autobiographical role of actress Parveen Babi who suffered from Schizophernia. The film documented Babi’s relationship with Mahesh Bhatt and Ranaut was once again applauded for her work. She gave her third consecutive hit with Anurag Basu’s ensemble drama film ‘Life in a… Metro’. In 2008, Ranaut appeared in Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Fashion’ in the supporting role of a substance abusing supermodel Shonali Gujral and won a National Award and a Filmfare award for best actress in a supporting role. She portrayed the character of a naive young girl on the verge of her marriage named Rani, who gets dumped by her fiancé a day before her marriage and goes on her honeymoon trip by herself, emerging as a confident woman. Ranaut won applaud for her work winning another National Award and a Filmfare best actress award and established herself as one of the best female actors in the country. In 2015, she appeared in the sequel of ‘Tanu Weds Manu’, titled ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’. Ranaut’s last role was in the 2017 film ‘Rangoon’. An outsider in the industry, When Ranaut entered the industry; she received support from actor Aditya Pancholi and his wife Zarina Wahab. She was said to be in a relationship with Pancholi and even suffered physical and mental abuse while she was with him. She enetered into a relationship with actor son Adhyayan Suman while shooting for the 2008 film ‘Raaz: The Mystery Continues’ but separated from him within a year.
