2000: Kareena debuted with Amitabh Bachchan’s son Abhishek Bachchan in J. P. Dutta’s Refugee. It was a moderate box-office success in India and she also received Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for the movie.
2001: Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai was a box-office hit opposite yesteryear actor Jeetendra’s son Tusshar Kapoor. In same year she paired opposite Hrithik Roshan in Karan Johar’s movie Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham which was a key point in her career. It became one of the biggest Bollywood successes and made over 1 billion rupees worldwide.
2002-03: This period was not very successful for her career.
