Kirti Kulhari is an upcoming Indian film actress mostly known for her work in the Indian Hindi film industry or ‘Bollywood’. Kulhari started her career as a model appearing in several print and commercial advertisements and soon started gaining roles as a supporting actress in various films. She is best known for her work in Anurag Kashyap’s psychological thriller ‘Shaitaan’ and Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury’s award winning court-room drama ‘Pink’.
Kulhari made her silver-screen debut with the 2010 comedy film ‘Khichdi: The Movie’, which was based on the super successful Indian sit-com of the same name. Kulhari soon became a known face and was named the ambassador for several Indian brands such as Parachute, Videocon, Whirlpool, Taj Mahal tea etc.

Early Life and Education
Kulhari was born in Jhunjhunu, a small town in Rajashthan, India on 30 May 1985. She is the third of the four children born to her parents. While her mother is a home-maker, her father served in the Indian Navy. Kulhari quotes the Indian city of Jaipur as her hometown. Out of her two elder sisters, one serves as a doctor in the Indian Army. She also has a younger brother.
Kulhari studied at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Karanja, Maharashtra from where she completed her school education. To pursue her higher education, she moved to Mumbai and enrolled in Bhavan’s College and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Management. She later attended K.J. Somaiya College, Mumbai from where she earned her post-graduate degree in Journalism and Mass Communication.

Career Rise
Kulhari started her acting career as a theatre artist and joined the Hindi theatre group ‘Yatri’ in order to be a part of its month long acting workshop. As a member of ‘Yatri’, she acted in the play ‘Chinta Chod Chintamani’. She also acted in the Hindi adaptation of the popular play ‘Sakharam Binder’ for ‘Yatri’. She soon appeared in another play, this time under the A K Various productions banner titled ‘Shahenshah of Azeemo’.
Kulhari received a break-through in her career when she was chosen to star in the 2010 comedy caper ‘Khichdi: The Movie’. She starred as ‘Parminder’, the love interest of the main lead. Her next big film was Anurag Kashyap’s ‘Shaitaan’, in which she essayed the supporting role of Tanya Sharma, alongside critically acclaimed actors like Kalki Koechlin and Neil Bhoopalam. Although Kulhari earned a lot of critical acclaim, her next few films failed to make a mark. In 2016, Kulhari appeared in the intense court-room drama ‘Pink’. She essayed the role of Falak Ali and received a lot of critical acclaim. One of the highest- acclaimed films of the year, in ‘Pink’ Kulhari shared screen space with veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu. Kulhari’s work in Pink gained her much recognition and was soon offered a role in the 2017 biopic on Indira Gandhi titled ‘Indu Sarkar’ directed by Madhur Bhandarkar.

In June 2016, the 1.63 meter tall Kulhari announced her marriage to actor Sahil Sehgal after several years of dating. She married Sehgal in Bhutan, just a few days prior to the release of ‘Pink’. Kulhari claims that she and her husband are ‘spiritual’ and also practice reiki. Post her marriage to Sehgal, Kulhari has started following ‘Saint Rajneesh’ and frequently visits the Osho Ashram in Pune.
