Ronit Roy is one of the popular personalities of the Indian television and also been active in Tollywood and Bollywood. Early life and Family
Born on 11 October 1965 in Nagpur, Ronit is the eldest son of Brothindranath and Dolly Bose Roy. His father is a businessman. He has a younger brother Rohit Roy, a television actor.
After his schooling from Ahmedabad, he did hotel management and served as a trainee in Sea Rock hotel, Mumbai. But from teenage, he was interested to join acting industry. He got a break in 1992 when he bagged lead role in a hit movie “Jaan Tere Naam”.
He got married on the Christmas Eve of Dec 2003 with Neelam singh, who is a model and television actress. The couple has two lovely daughters – Ona and Aador and a son Agasthya.
Career
Ronit started his career with movies and he did his first movie, Jaan Tere Naam in 1992. He moved to television much later when he got associated with Balaji Telefilms and did a popular role in Kasautii Zindagii Kay where as Rishabh Bajaj, he portrayed a rich, stylish middle aged businessman. He impressed the audience with his heavy voice and persona. He repeated his success on television as Mihir Virani in Kyunki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi on star TV.
The 1.73 meter tall actor is a true professional and did varied kinds of characters in serials and reality shows. He contested Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in 2007 and Yeh Hai Jalwa in 2008. He hosted the popular show Kitchen Champions in 2010 on Color television.
He acted as Dharamraj in serial Bandini on NDTV Imagine and played a lawyer in serial Adalat on Sony television in 2010. He acted in serials – Kammal, Kavyanjali, Sarkarr, Kasamh Se, Suraag and Itna Karo Na Mujhe Pyar

Controversies
Ronit Roy is a good actor and has not been into many controversies. In 2011, he was being booked for negligent and rash driving by Mumbai police. He was involved in a road accident when he hit his Mercedes car with a Wagon-R at a very speed while returning from a Diwali party.
