Esha Gupta is a popular Indian film actress known for her work in the Indian Hindi Film Industry; ‘Bollywood’. Gupta is an established model and a former beauty pageant winner, having participated in the 2007 Femina Miss India contest in which she was placed third and crowned Miss India International. She became India’s official representative at the Miss International pageant. Gupta then embarked upon a career in films and made her Bollywood debut with the 2012 film ‘Jannat 2’.
Since her debut in 2012, Gupta has appeared in several films in leading and supporting roles. Some of her popular films include ‘Raaz 3D’, and ‘Chakravyuh’. In 2015, she appeared in a supporting role in the suspense thriller film ‘Rustom’ which went on to become her biggest success till date. Additionally, Gupta serves as the brand ambassador for the Indian jewellery brand Hoozorilal and the online fashion brand YepMe.
Early Life and Education
Gupta was born on 28 November 1985 in the capital city of New Delhi, India in a Hindu family that comprised of her homemaker father and an Air Force officer father. She was raised in her birth city along with her sibling, a younger sister named Neha. Gupta’s parents currently own a hosiery business in her native city.
Gupta attended primary and secondary schools in New Delhi from where she completed her matriculation. While studying at Manipal Institute of Communications, a branch of Manipal University, Karnataka, Gupta chose to audition for Femina Miss India. She also won a law scholarship to the prestigious Newcastle University, England but opted to pursue a film career instead.

Career Rise
Gupta came into the limelight after she participated in the 2007 Femina Miss India beauty pageant, where she was awarded the title of ‘Miss Photogenic’. She completed the competition in the 3rd position, winning Miss India International and became India’s official representative at the Miss International pageant. She received more popularity after featuring in the famous Kingfisher calendar in India in its 2010 edition.
Gupta debuted on the silver screen in 2012 with Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Jannat 2’ in which she was paired opposite Emraan Hashmi. Although the film proved to be a box office success, raking in ₹430 million, Gupta received mixed reviews for her work. Her next film was Vikram Bhatt’s ‘Raaz 3D’ in which she once again shared screen space with Hashmi and featured actress Bipasha Basu. The film was also a box office success and earned ₹360 million within the first three days. Gupta’s next film ‘Humshakals’ was a comic caper directed by Sajid Khan but the film was panned by audience and critics alike but the 2015 film ‘Rustom’ served as Gupta’s comeback vehicle. She essayed the role of the female antagonist Preeti Makhija in the film starring Akshay Kumar and Ileana D’Cruz, which became the biggest hit of her career. Gupta also appeared in a supporting role in ‘Baadshaho’ which released in 2017.
Boyfriend
Gupta is a private person and though she has openly acknowledged that she is in a serious relationship with her boyfriend for several years, she has refused to divulge any information regarding him, stating that she is trying to protect her boyfriend so that he can lead a normal personal life.
Gupta sparked off rumors of dating football player and Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin after she attended one of his matches and went on a dinner date with him thereafter. Gupta maintained that she has always been an Arsenal Fan and merely served as a model for the team jersey.
