Early life and Family
Ram Kapoor was born on 1 Sep 1973 in a Punjabi Khatri family. His Father, Anil Kapoor was as advertising executive and mother Rita Kapoor was a house wife. He did his schooling from Scottish High School, Mumbai and Sherwood College, Nainital. He was very fond of acting since early age and went to Los Angeles to learn acting skills and get professional training to pick up acting as a career.
He is married to an Indian model an actress Gautami and has two lovely daughters – Sia and Aks Kapoor, eight and six years respectively. His family is settled in Mumbai. He owns a big house in a high-class locality near Nepean Sea Road, South Mumbai.
Career
Ram started his television debut in 1997 with serial Nyay. His performance was liked and he started getting loads of offers. He worked for show Heena in 1998, Sangharsh in 1999 and Kavita in 2000.
In the same year, he got to work in a popular daily soap Ghar Ek Mandir with opposite Gautami on Sony Entertainment Channel. This serial brought fame to the actor and he became a household name.
He worked with director and theatre artist Aamir Raza Hussein for a play The Fifty Days of War-Kargil. This play was a tribute to bravery of Kargil war soldiers and was played at New Delhi, India
In 2001, he worked on serials Rishtey and Kabhi Aaye Na Judaai. He also did a small role in Bollywood movie Monsoon Wedding.
In 2003, he did serials – Dhadkan and Awaz – Dil se Dil Tak. He also appeared in a telefilm Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi the same year.
In 2005 he performed supporting roles in various Bollywood movies – Devaki, Kal – yesterday and tomorrow and Missed Call.
He contested a reality show – Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and hosted Rakhi Ka Swayamwar in 2009.
In 2010, he bagged roles in two Bollywood movies – Farhan Aktar’s Karthik Calling Karthik and Anurag Kashyap’s Udaan. He was also seen in supporting roles in movies – Agent Vinod in 2012, Student of the Year in 2013, Humshakals and Shaadi Ke Side Effects in 2014. He tried his luck as lead role in Kuch Kuch Locha Hai in 2015 with co-star Sunny Leone but the film did not go well at box office.
