Zarine Khan is an Indian film actress. The 5’8″ tall beauty made her acting debut as princess Yashodhara in the movie ‘Veer’ opposite Salman Khan. The movie flopped, but her next film Housefull 2 was a big hit. Zarine has also acted in South Indian and Punjabi films.

Family Background and Personal Life
Zarine was born into a Pathan family in Mumbai on May 14 1987. She finished her intermediate education from Rizvi College of Science in Mumbai. She however could not pursue her studies due to financial problems. This is when she started modelling. Zarine can speak Urdu, English, Hindi, and Marathi.
Career
Zarine started her career as a model. She worked at numerous award ceremonies and did small modelling assignments. She also took part in many concerts.
During this period of struggle, Zarine visited Whistling Woods, the film academy of Subhash Ghai, when shooting for the movie ‘Yuvraaj’ was in progress. Salman Khan noticed Zarine on the sets and realized that she would be ideal for the role of the princess in the film ‘Veer.’ She got the role after a screen test. Zarine however needed to put on a few pounds so as to look authentic as a nineteenth century princess. The movie was a critical and commercial failure and Zarine was compared to Katrina Kaif for her looks and criticized for her wooden acting. She however won a nomination for Zee Cine Award for Best Female Debut for her role in the film.
Zarine then appeared alongside Salman Khan in the hit song ‘Character Dheela’ from the movie ‘Ready.’ She then got a lead role in Sajid Khan’s comedy ‘Housefull 2.’ The movie was a super hit and she was praised for her performance. In 2012, she walked the ramp as the Showstopper at the India International Jewellery Week for the jewelry brand “YS18.”
In 2013, Khan appeared in an item song ‘Malgove’ in the Tamil film ‘Naan Rajavaga Pogiren.’ In 2014, she acted opposite actor Gippy Grewal in the Punjabi movie ‘Jatt James Bond.’ She was praised for her performance as the sweet and innocent ‘Lalli’ in the movie.
