Anand Ahuja – Know him Better!

Anand Ahuja is an Indian entrepreneur and businessman, with major interests and investments in the fashion and lifestyle sector.

Anand married actress Sonam Kapoor on 8^th May 2018 in a Sikh wedding. Sonam Kapoor is the daughter of Indian actor Anil Kapoor.

Early Life and Education

Ahuja was born on 7^th July, 1983, in New Delhi.

He attended New Delhi’s American Embassy School. He then went to the University of Pennsylvania and earned his degree in economics and international relations. He subsequently attended Wharton Business School but dropped out before completing his MBA.

Career

After dropping out from school, Anand began working in the clothing company owned by his uncle. He worked as an intern at Deutsche Bank. He also had a job at Macy’s during which period he understood the art of retailing. He also worked at Last Sportswear and Amazon as a product manager.

Anand was passionate about sneakers and apparels. This passion turned into entrepreneurship and he subsequently founded his clothing company ‘Bhane.’ The company is headquartered in Delhi.

Ahuja is also the co-founder of a company called Veg Non-Veg. It is a multi-brand shoe retail store which sells global brands like Nike and Adidas as well as lesser known brands like Visvim.

Anand is also the MD of his family-owned company Shahi Exports. The firm has an annual turnover of over $450 million and is one of the largest export houses in India.

Personal Life and Trivia

• Anand proposed to his girlfriend Sonam in July 2014. They were then engaged. The couple got married on May 8, 2018.
• He is close to Sonam’s family, including her mother, sister, and father.
• At 5 feet 6 inch, he is a couple of inches shorter than Sonam Kapoor’s height.
• Ahuja is a huge fan of the NBA and basketball. His favorite team is the LA Lakers.
• Other than playing basketball, Anand also likes cycling and working out in the gym. Sonam gave him a BMX bike as a birthday gift in 2017.
• In 2017, Anand appeared in ‘Sneakerheads of Instagram’ of GQ India.
