Shraddha Kapoor is an Indian film actress and one of the fastest rising young stars in Bollywood. The 5’5″ beauty started her film career with a minor role in the Amitabh Bachchan starrer ‘Teen Patti.’ Her first lead role was in teen drama by Yash Raj films ‘Luv Ka The End.’ However, Kapoor found fame and recognition only after she bagged the female lead in the super hit film ‘Aashiqui 2.’ Her subsequent films ‘Ek Villain,’ ‘Haider,’ and ‘ABCD 2’ were also blockbusters. She has also sung the unplugged ‘Galiyan’ version of Ek Villain

Early Life and Family Background
Shraddha Kapoor was born on 3 March 1989 in Mumbai to actor Shakti Kapoor and Shivangi Kapoor. Actresses Padmini Kolhapure and Tejaswini Kolhapure are her aunts. Her older brother, Siddhanth Kapoor, is a DJ and an assistant director. Even though Shraddha has Punjabi and Marathi ancestry, she considers herself to a complete Marathi.Her mother and maternal grandfather are classical singers and hence she was trained as a singer from her childhood days. The romantic song ‘Galliyan’ from the film ‘Ek Villain was her singing debut.
Kapoor attended the Jamnabai Narsee School in Juhu and later went to American School of Bombay. She competed in handball and soccer when in school. Shraddha then moved to Boston to finish her college studies. There she participated and studies the theater arts. She dropped out of college in 2010 when she was offered the role in ‘Teen Patti.’ The director apparently saw her photos on Facebook and felt that she would suit the role. She finished her graduation in India.
Kapoor has stated that she is not embarrassed of her father’s villainous image, but is instead proud of the way she was brought up by her parents. Her father was the source of support and inspiration when she was struggling during the initial days of her career.
